(Önce) Ago

“Ago” geçmişte bir zamandan bahsetmek için “Past simple” ile beraber kullanılır.

We use ago to talk about a time in the past with the Past Simple.

eg. I arrived in Istanbul seven months ago. (Seven months before now.)
(Örnek: İstanbul’a yedi ay önce geldim. (Şu andan yedi ay önce.))

NB: the day before yesterday = two days ago.
(NOT: Dünden önceki gün = iki gün önce.)

Last (Son)

We use last to say the day, week, month, etc. in the past that is nearest to now.
(“Last” şu andan önceki son (geçmiş en yakın) gün, hafta, ay gibi şeylerden bahsetmek için kullanılır.)

eg. I went to Eminonu last Saturday. (the Saturday before now)
(Örnek: Geçen cumartesi Eminönü’ye gittim. (Geçen en son cumartesi))

We use last with days, months, seasons and in the following phrases:
(“Last” günler, aylar, mevsimler ve seneler için aşağıdaki yapıda kullanılır:)

last night (Dün gece)

last week (Geçen hafta)
