VERY / REALLY / QUITE / TOO – ÇOK / GERÇEKTEN / EPEY – HAYLI / GEREĞINDEN ÇOK – TÜRKÇE KONU ANLATIMI

Very, really, quite, too sıfatlarla beraber nicelik – miktar belirtici (quantifier) olarak, bir şeyin ne kadar büyük, ne kadar güzel, ne kadar eski olduğunu belirtmek için kullanılır.

We use very, really, quite and too with adjectives as quantifiers, to say how big or how beautiful or how old something is.Very, really, quite and too come after the verb be and before adjectives.

For example: (Örneğin)

The house is very big. (Ev çok büyük.)

That’s a really beautiful dress. (Gerçekten güzel bir elbise.)

The watch is quite expensive. (Saat epey pahalı.)

The room is too small. (Oda çok küçük.)

Quite = a bit, a little (“Quite” bir miktar anlamında kullanılır.)

Very / really = a lot (“Very” ve “Really” çok anlamına gelir.)

Too has a negative meaning. It means more than you want.
(“Too” çok fazla (istediğinizden – gerekenden çok fazlası) anlamında negatif olarak kullanılır.)

NB: We don’t use too to mean very very:
(Not: İngilizce’de “Too” very very anlamında kullanılmaz.)

She’s really happy. NOT She’s too happy.
