INGILIZCE TOO / TOO MUCH / TOO MANY / NOT ENOUGH – DA / ÇOK ŞEY / ÇOK FAZLA / YETERLI DEĞIL – TÜRKÇE KONU ANLATIMI

We use “too”, “too much” and “too many” to say something is more than we want.
(“Too, too much”, ve “too many” sözcüklerini, bir şeyin istediğimizden fazla olduğunu belirtmek için kullanırız.)

Examples (Örnekler):
too + adjective (too + sıfat):
This house is too small.
(Bu ev fazla küçük)

Don’t get home too late.
(Eve fazla geç gelmeyin)

too much + uncountable noun (too much + sayılamayan isim):
She’s got too much work to do.
(Onun daha çok fazla iş yapması gerekiyor)

There is too much salt in the soup.
(Bu çorbanın içinde çok fazla tuz bulunuyor)

too many + countable noun (too many + sayılabilen isim):
There are too many dishes to wash.
(Daha yıkanacak çok fazla bulaşık bulunuyor)

I have too many things to do.
(Benim yapılacak çok fazla işim bulunuyor)

We use “not enough” to say something is less than we want.
(“Not enough” sözcüğünü bir şeyin istediğimizden az olduğunu belirtmek için kullanırız.)

not + adjective + enough (not + sıfat + enough):
He is not tall enough to reach the shelf.
(O rafa ulaşmasına yetecek kadar uzun boylu değil)

He’s not old enough to go to nightclubs.
(O gece kulübüne gidebilmek için gerekli olan yaşta değil)

not + verb + enough + noun (not + fiil + enough + isim):
I don’t have enough flour for the recipe.
(Yemek tarifinde belirtilene yeterli olacak kadar unum bulunmuyor)

There aren’t enough chairs for the guests.
(Misafirlere yetecek kadar sandalye yok)

We use “enough” to say something is the correct number or amount.
(“Enough” sözcüğünü, bir şeyin doğru sayıda yada miktarda bulunduğunu belirtmek içim kullanırız.)

enough + noun (enough + isim):
There is enough food for everyone
(Burada herkese yetecek kadar yiyecek bulunuyor)

He earns enough money to support his family.
(O ailesini geçindirebilecek kadar yeterli para kazanıyor)

NB: We often use the infinitive with “to” after these phrases:
(NOT: “To” aşağıda belirtilen sözcük diziliminden sonra, mastar ile bağlantılı olarak sık kullanılır.)

I’ve got too many things to do today.
(Bugün yapacak çok fazla işim var)

There are too many things to see in New York in 3 days.
(New York’da 3 günde görülebilecek çok şey bulunuyor)

We don’t use “too” to mean “very very”!
(“Too” çok fazla demek için kullanılmaz!)

Example (Örnek):
She is really beautiful. NOT She is too beautiful.
( O gerçekten güzel.O gerçekten çok fazla güzel şeklinde KULLANILMAZ)
