INGILIZCE THERE IS / ARE – VAROLMAK – VAR – VARDIR – TÜRKÇE KONU ANLATIMI

İngilizce’de “there is / are” varolmanın tekil ve çoğul durumlarını belirtmek üzere kullanılır. “There is” tekil ve/veya sayılamayan isimler, “There are” ise çoğul isimler için kullanılır. Beginner seviyesinde “any”(bir – hiç – hiçbir) kelimesinin kullanımını olumsuz ve soru cümlelerinde göreceğiz.

In English we use ‘there is’ and ‘there are’ to talk about the existence of singular and plural objects. We use ‘there is’ with singular and uncountable nouns and ‘there are’ with plural nouns. At beginner level we introduce the use of ‘any’ in negative sentences and questions.

For example: (Örnek)

There is a cat in the living room. (Oturma odasında bir kedi var.)

There is rice in the cupboard. (Mutfak dolabında prinç var.)

There isn’t a chair in the bathroom. (Banyoda bir sandalye yok.)

There are two tables in the kitchen. (Mutfakta iki masa var.)

There aren’t any plates on the table. (Masanın üstünde hiç tabak yok.)

Is there a glass for the wine? (Bir bardak şarap var mı?)

Is there any cheese in the fridge? (Dolapta hiç peynir var mı?)

Are there any plants in the house? (Evde hiç süs bitkisi var mı?)

Yes, there is./ No, there isn’t. (Evet var. / Hayır yok.)

Yes, there are./ No, there aren’t. (Evet varlar. / Hayır yoklar.)
